When a new employee is registered, the start date in KLARA and the date the employee started in the company are requested.
The start date in KLARA is important for calculation of the salary in KLARA. This date is used to calculate the salary that is to be paid.
The “Start date company” is the date the employee joined, according to their employment contract. This is required in order to calculate the length of service. The date has no bearing on the salary.
The month in “Payment from period” refers to the first month the salary is paid via KLARA.
Here is an example of how these three dates relate to each other.
On 01.01.2018 you decided to have the salaries of your company settled via KLARA in the future, and you are in the process of registering your employees. Joe Bloggs has been working in your company since 01.08.2011.
You would therefore enter the following details for Joe:
- Start date in KLARA: 01.01.2018
- Start date company: 01.08.2011
- Payment from period: 01.2018
- First day of work: 02.08.2011 (because 01.08 is a public holiday)
If you are unsure, look for the “i” next to the keyword. If you move the mouse over it, you will see an additional description for this point.
