Summary
Items are created in the web application under the “Items” menu item. You can add item images, generate an item number, or enter one yourself. Items are needed across all modules. Here in the video, you can see how items are created in KLARA.
- Cash register or online store: Items are purchased, entered, and charged.
- Order management: Quotes and invoices are created with items. Without an item, the price cannot be defined because the item determines where the service is posted.
- Accounting: Based on the items or the tag on the item, the services are posted accordingly in accounting. Therefore, think about how you structure your items or services.
- Appointment booking: Services that are booked in your calendar (by you or by customers online) are first created as items with the type “Service”.
- Project: To record types of services that are posted to a project, an item is first created and can then be assigned to various services.
Creating items
- Log in to the web application at app.klara.ch.
- Navigate to the “Items” menu item.
- Click the “Add item” button to start the process.
- Add an item image if desired.
- Select an item number:
Select the language for the item. KLARA supports four languages, and at least one language must be entered.
- Specify at least one category so that the item can be displayed on your tablet for the cash register.
- On the second input page, enter additional information about the product:
- Price per unit (the unit is, for example, h / ml / piece / menu / consultation / flat rate
- Value-added tax (VAT) – Items can have different VAT rates. Find out about this in advance. Tax rates for items can be added in the settings. (Company > Settings > VAT)
- Tag (this field is mandatory and important for structuring your KLARA accounting). Think about how you want to set up your accounting and item tags. You can find more information in the FAQ article.
Click “Save” to create the item. Additional fields must be completed if, for example, appointment booking, inventory, cash register or online store are used.
Bulk import of items
If you have many items, we recommend creating them using the item import. If you need help creating items, book the setup service or contact Support.
