Summary
The KLARA cash register automatically posts sales from the cash register to the accounting system. For third-party cash registers that use KLARA Accounting, manual posting is required. This ensures that all your sales are correctly recorded in the accounting system.

- Select “General ledger” as the posting type.
- Upload the cash register’s daily closing.
Journal Entries
Here are the individual journal entries:
This example assumes that services are billed at 8.1%. If different VAT rates need to be charged to customers or the income statement should be structured differently, divide the last step into multiple postings. If you are not subject to VAT, switch off the “VAT” toggle in the top right.
Credit from Card Payments—From the Payment Provider
Your payment provider (e.g., Adyen) transfers the payments from card transactions to your bank. You will therefore regularly find these as credits in the sync. To post the credit including the commission, you can click “Payment service provider” in the KLARA bank reconciliation and deduct the credit card commission.
This leaves only the outstanding balance of the credit card company/companies in account 1101. The following accounts are then affected:
| Account | Debit | Credit |
| 1020 – Bank | 33.75 | |
| 1101 - Receivables from payment service providers | 35.00 | |
| 3800 - Reductions in revenue | 1.25 |
Please discuss this posting with your trustee beforehand, as each individual situation can only be assessed to a limited extent.
